News and updates from Education Works - providing innovative, effective
support programmes in reading, speaking, listening and maths.
We are really pleased to welcome Julie Auld as a new Boosting Reading National Trainer. Her addition to the team means we now have five National Trainers, making Boosting Reading (BR) more accessible across the country. It is particularly good news for Scotland as Julie is a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader and Deputy Head Teacher in North Ayrshire.
Julie has been a primary school educator for over 15 years and in 2016 was part of the team who established the Professional Learning Academy who sought to support practitioners to engage in research based professional learning that would support the closing the of the poverty related attainment gap. She is passionate about professional learning, literacy and getting it right for all learners embarking on a Masters in Reading Recovery and Literacy Leadership in 2017. Following this she became involved in BR and has seen the impact of this intervention first hand at Primary and Secondary levels. It's great to have you on board Julie.
In other news the existing team have been working hard on the latest update of BR training materials. This includes upgrades to the BR@P and BR@S booklets and the training powerpoint. These materials are now ready and FREE updates on the materials will be available in the Autumn Term just go to our Boosting Reading Training article for details
