Tailored consultancy support to develop mathematical problem-solving in real-life contexts.
Our Mathematics Consultant, Sam Adams, will provide a problem-solving day that allows children to tackle up to ten mini-challenges/investigations based on different strands of the 2014 National Curriculum for Mathematics.
Each challenge/investigation is known as a ‘station’ and children will work collaboratively to try and solve the problems that each station sets.
Each station has a different mathematical focus – e.g. ‘Usain’s Challenge’ is a measures task for an outdoor/school hall station and ‘Crack the Code’ is a problem-solving task linked to times tables/place value and algebra (for further details, please open the ‘What's involved?’ drop-down menu tab).
The day could have a theme – e.g. ‘Challenges/Investigations based on the Guinness Book of Records’.
