Kerry Clegg

Following many years as a primary education teacher Kerry trained as a Reading Recovery teacher in 2012. She then went on to complete a master’s degree in literacy leadership in 2016 and has been Reading Recovery Teacher Leader for the north-east since then.

Kerry trained as regional trainer for BR@P and BR@S at that time with most of North Tyneside schools now delivering the intervention. Kerry works with North Tyneside Local Authority training teachers in early reading skills.

She also works closely with secondary and middle schools supporting older struggling readers, and as part of the RHELAC team (Raising the Health and Education of Looked After Children) delivering specialist reading support to children.

She is passionate about raising expectations for the hardest to teach children in reading and writing.
